Sometime ago I purchased a pair of ceramic tap bodies. When I opened the packet the ceramics were cracked. Managed to exchange them with no problem, but the replacements when fitted leaked. So I took these back and was quizzed as to if I was local. What difference that makes I have no idea. So they more or less refused to give me another replacement and begrudgingly gave me my money back and suggested I should go to a plumbers. Never been back since. Customer service..huh! So I went to trusted Wicks in Milton Keynes got the parts (cheaper), got them fitted and not a drip in sight. So much for shopping local!
This place is like an Aladdin's cave! The service was superb; they knew exactly what I described and had some in stock. Good prices too!
This is my go-to local DIY store. They may not have exactly the range that the big boys have but they really try hard and I'm rarely disappointed.Of course, they're slightly more expensive but it's worth spending a few pence/pounds more to support a local business and know that the thingy that you really need is a walk down the high street rather than a drive out to MK, Bedford or Northampton...

Helpful and friendly staff. Quite a big shop, it is definitely worth asking a member of staff where to find something. Parking is an issue but it's to be expected being on the high street
